Pets

When you give an animal food, shelter, protection, warmth, and medical care the animal looks to you as its savior. The animal begins to recognize that its existence depends on the magnanimous god-like human.  It looks forward to its benefactor showing up everyday and soon it forgets how to feed and to even survive without the human's help. The human has a reason for doing this to an animal, to make it dependent; the person wants to make the animal think that it cannot survive without the humans help. In return the animal will be a good pet. It will lick the hand and wag the tail and be a good little doggy. So it is with people. The government will give food, shelter, cell phones, bus passes, housing, clothing, health care to people.  Soon the people forget how to do this stuff for themselves.  They forget how to think, the government tells them how to think. They lose the pride of having a job and doing things for themselves. They forget how to work, and worse they forget the meaning of working. The god-like government takes from the people who work and gives it to the people who do not. They keep on giving more and more goodies to make the pets happier. The people who don't work soon think that they are owed more and more; it becomes a right to receive "free stuff".  You really can't blame them because this is the way they were brought up. The people who work, work harder to make up for what is taken from them and start to question the sanity of working.  Why work when the government will just take it from you? Perhaps the government pets have it better.
